Dave,

Have you considered using the PNP blue iron-on toner 
transfer system?  A guy I work with has it's use down to 
a science.  I've seen double-sided boards he's made 
with <10 mil lines/spacing.  The plate through could be 
simulated with leads soldered through vias. Obviously all 
the fancy stuff would not be there like solder mask, tin 
plating, silk screen, etc.  The main advantage besides 
cost reduction is that if something is wrong with the PCB 
design, you can find it and correct it before making a 
large production run.

Just a thought to save a few bucks if you're heavy into 
the DIY kind of stuff.

PS: I'd join the group buy, but I already own two emulators.
