Diacom Cable (to GMY2K) Check your DIC

Ok--so it's got a 4 digit date. It has a 2 digit date...it just doesn't
matter.....What possible function could be linked to a date ??? Does it honk
out "Auld Lang Syne" (probably spelled that wrong) at midnight Dec 31 ??
I've never run across any check charts, or trouble shooting systems on ANY
vehicles that says -- "hey mr. techy---did you check that the date is set
correctly? " I don't know of any written code that relates to a date issue
with a PCM or BCM system...The only links that are remotely close to
something turning on a warning light in your vehicle are preset odometer
parameters for scheduled maintenance---nothing date related. My vented .032
cents Canadian. (2 cents U.S.) Symbiotic relationship ends at the radio
clock.
