165/808 A/D chip

P4 hackers (and Ludis),

The TI TLC542 looks a lot like the '165/808's 16034988 A/D 
serial converter. Would I be correct in assuming this is the 
"industry standard" part Ludis has referred to this part as?

Anyone got some other URLs for "industry standard" GM chips
(as opposed to Delco/Delphi chips)?
