You are right on both counts. GM has written these program a few times, so
most of the routines are custom coded, many several years ago. Now the're
custom "library routines", why reinvent the wheel, just add some bells and
whistles and some vehicle specific stuff and glue it together. You could do
it in a macro-assembler, C, ADA, or Modula, or Pascal, just as long as you
have a compiler..
