Hi Everyone,
I guess I'll throw in an introduction also.....

I have lurked the diy site for over a year now and have thrown in an
occasional comment here and there,,,,I envy you guys that know how to reverse
the code...I am not so lucky to have that knowledge....I have however built
ALOT of different types of racing engines from NA 4cyl Toyota's to 2000hp
Blown alcohol BBC's.....I got into the chip stuff because I couldn't get the
chip "done" right when I finished building someone an engine.....so I thought
"I can do that" and bought an eprom burner/reader....plugged in a 27512 from a
94 chev(after making the appropriate adaptor) and saw all the hex...shit I
didn't even know what hex was.....so I started researching and found that out
and still didn't know what the heck I was looking at. I was freinds with the
owner of JET and after much pestering he ended up giving me the addresses for
the fuel and timing maps.....so I started playing,,,,,,I already had a
datalogger and a Horiba and knew what closed loop and open loop was and
quickly learned I was in over my head.......basically he didn't give me enough
addresses.....so I gave up on that, till one day I heard of an
emulator,,,,,,and thought "what the heck is an emulator" ......so again I did
a little research and found out I gotta have one of these,,,,Then discovered I
needed to build some sort of simulator(new term for me at that time too) so I
did.......and just started playing with addresses till I was able to confirm
what was changing.......It wasn't till I joined the diy list that I heard of
reversing....I'm still trying to learn of that........What you guys have
learned of code I have been "discovering" by chance and have definatley seen
GM do the same thing over and over......so other proms have been "easier" to
find the areas I wanted to alter.........Anyway if there is a code patch or
whatever that the group needs to verify before going in a vehicle...I can
generally simulate it....this only pertains to 7747,7748,7749,165's,7730's,and
8625's though.....One last note is that I really enjoy this group and if there
is anything I can do,,,,,just ask.....
