Hey Guys:

Ring Ring...
Wife Unit: What did you buy for your car NOW?
Me: Uh, What do you mean? Did something come in the mail?
WU: Yes, and I opened it.
Me: I bet you can't figure out what it is.
WU: Some sort of temperature thing.
Me: It's an exhaust gas temperature gauge.
WU: What do you need that for?
Me: It's for tuning my car.
WU: Oh.

Anyway, it is a Westach with 1/2" probe on a stainless hose clamp.
Got it from Aircraft Spruce and Specialty for $62.50. My question
is which cylinder should I put it on? It should go about 6" from
the exhaust port on the leanest cyl. The motor is a 3.8 NA SFI 1987
Buick Century. The doghouse looks similar to a 87 GN but is backwards
on the engine (TB on flexplate side). I heard the rear cyls were
leanest on the GN, so I'm thinking #1 or #2 on mine. Any thoughts?

ECM content:
Anyone have an easy to make thumbwheel setup for using a larger
chip and switching between binaries? I remember something described here
but didn't see details. I am looking at
www.casperselectronics.com/cgi-local/store/commerce.cgi?product=PERF
chip switcher setup. Looks like it might be worth the labor saving
over making my own.

Thanks
Pat
