4T-65E

Starting in 96, a few GM FWD vehicles got the 4T60E-HD (3800 SC motor, C/H,
H and G bodies) with the Transaxle model code of 6YLW, 6YRW and 6CTW
accordingly, all the rest 4T60E were standard as you state. The 4T65E
however, started as the standard version (RPO M15) but the HD version
started up later (RPO MN7) to better handle the 280 lb ft of those (stock)
SC 3800s. I have a friend who is pushing around 340 lb ft (and maybe a
little more but 300 hp at the wheels) and will be running a high 12 very
soon(did a 13.01 first time out) . The 4T65E/HD case will handle 400 lb ft
but that is only the case, so far the internals needed help to run over 300
lb ft for a time. Also, there is a 4T65E (RPO MN3) that has "Advanced
Controls" for the Intrique (whatever). I don't consider you to be wrong,
just not informed yet, as we all are in some areas until we get into a great
group of helpful guys like here at GMECM!

Good luck with your project.
