Based on previous discussions here and Mike Knell's "Chevrolet TPI &
TBI Engine Swapping" book, the proper way to set up that external pump
is to use a cheapo low pressure electric pump to feed a reservoir. The
high press pump can then go below the level of the reservoir and get
an air-free supply. Note that the reservoir is *not* pressurized. It
merely prevents starvation of the high press pump (and premature
pump or engine failure). See page 10-6 of the Knell book.
BTW--see www.airtexproducts.com....I'll betcha MSD doesn't make their own
pump. :)
