They have a low power state, but it isn't a low voltage state.  The
DPRAM will want microamperes at 5 volts as long as it is deselected and
all inputs are at CMOS voltage levels.  This means having 10K or 100K
pulldown resistors on all inputs, something to switch to the backup VCC,
and some way of deselecting the RAM.
