MEMCAL failure

Just when things were getting interesting, my memcal failed.  The EPROM still
checks out on the programmer, but when I put it in the ECM I get "vehicle not
responding" on my scanner and the car won't start.  And I checked the checksum
so that's not it.

Has anyone had this happen before?  could it be static?

I guess I'm going to have to start using my backup MEMCAL.  I hope that one
doesn't fail or my car won't be drivable any time soon!
