peak-n-holds

Thinking out loud:

"You know what would be really cool?  A small device 
that plugs in between the injector plug and injector 
socket (at each injector), and contained a peak-n-hold 
driver.  There's already constant 12v at the injector, all 
one would need to do is wire in a suitable ground and 
use the incoming signal from the ECM as the trigger."

Is this a silly idea?  If possible, it would make soldering 
new drivers inside the ECM unnecessary.
