What the hell...

$25 US for the parts that are on that board is pretty darn steep man!!!!!   Why so expensive?  I don't mean to rag on you, but just going through the local catalog here:

7805, 1.00x1 = 1.00
2n3904, 0.25x4 = 1.00
caps, 0.25x6 = 1.50
res, 0.25x9 = 2.25
MAX232, 4.25x1 = 4.25

Comes to a wopping $11.50 Canadian at single piece prices and tax....  what's that, $8 american???  Where does the three fold increase in cost come from????
