Yes my tank is that small, in the manual it is a 10 us gal tank. But I've
been able to squeeze 12 gal when run out of fuel. Mine is a 85 s15 (gmc)
ext cab short box 4x4 gypsy package. I have a 87 305 Tuned port intake which
came off the original 305 I put in it in '97 off of a Camaro. Now it is the
only thing that is stock other than the block and ecm. I put an oem apyu
prom in it to eliminate the cold start injector (newer TPI's start better)
You run TBI-me TPI, you 4.11 me 3.42. My VE at 2000-2800 is around 80-90%
(from dyno tests) I run 11:1 compression you-guessing 8.5-9:1 You want that
mileage... go to TPI MAF, with a good custom ground cam to match your heads.
The Place where I worked and where my engine was built, my ole mans motor
was rebuilt for his truck too.
94 ¾ ton 4x4 Ext cab short box. 300hp 400ftlbs and 20mpg (us gal :-)) Is
tbi, stock except for 10:1 comp, custom Isky single pattern cam similar to
mine. Old motor was 16-17mpg and like stepping on a mushroom compared to
this one!

Hi Mike, is your gas tank really that small? The most I've ever put in
my S-10 (the engine stalled while waiting to turn in the station, so it
was really empty) is just over 18 US gallons, or 68 liters. I drive 25
miles to work also at 60-70 mph, and I also get 280-300 miles/tank,
which is 16.5 mpg. And this is a stock TBI 350!
Mine is automatic, 235/75R15. My freeway rpm is more like 2500, which
leads me to believe I have the 4:11 rear end. Haven't counted
revolutions or anything to be sure.
Not trying to get on your case or anything, but if you are getting that
kind of mileage then I want it too!
