You have to keep in mind that most chip manufactures build their chip
settings/code based on a predefined criteria - either a bone stock
vehicle that they've tested on, or a particular set of components that
achieve a certain performance level. There is no way a chip manufacture
can accurately "guess" how much flow your intake/heads can achieve, how
an aftermarket cam will work with your heads, etc, unless YOUR car is
sitting in THEIR garage for testing. Its important to keep this in mind
when things don't quite go right.

Case in point - several years back a friend and I built identical Ford
460's, we ordered all the parts from PAW together, at the same time,
because I had a credit card, and he didn't. Two sets of everything...
pistons, rings, gaskets, intakes, carbs everything. Turned out at the
same RPM, his engine CONSISTANTLY made about 5-6% more power throughout
the entire RPM band, based on the dyno results of both engines, tested
the same day. Why? He tuned his much better, had the cam off a degree
(deliberate), and the timing adjusted differently.

The point I'm trying to make is every engine build contains many, many
variables therefore its rather difficult sometimes to get a custom chip
right the first time.
