try using eprom.exe, and reading/verifying a 2732 eprom.  Read is ok,
verify is ng, prom now ng.  Least that's the way it was on two of my
machines.  Plus won't work on the laptop, and difficult to work with if
using fileprom.exe.  But need to use fileprom.exe to prevent 2732
failures.  catch 22
