Operating temps

Just curious, has anyone else done any extensive, thermostat temp testing?.
Meaning completely optimizing fuel, and timing and doing baack to back 
testing?, on a efi car.

Doc, Sleeepy, and Sneezy wanted to get one last quick day of water skiing 
in, but it wasn't too much fun.  Boat just wouldn't come up to speed.  Upon 
reflection, might have been worth the time to take it off the trailer first.
