Identifying ECM and such from 87 TPI

Folks,

I would appreciate some assistance identifying the ECM components which I have in my 87 305 TPI TransAm. I am planning on obtaining a few blank 27C128 or larger (C512 or C1024) EPROM chips and using them to accept some alternative *.bin data. I will be hunting for a reasonably priced EPROM programmer, so if anyone has suggestions I would be interested (I've seen one which does 8Mbit through PC parallel for $129.). I don't mind putting together something barebones, I'm pretty cheap and handy with an iron if someone has a suggestion for making one. I'd also like to log the operating characteristics to a PC through the ALDL. I saw some plans for a MAX232-based system around, applied to 94-95 Camaros, will it work with my system as well? Anyways, here goes, a bunch of numbers from all over the place. Any insight to what they are would be much appreciated:

On the 28-pin EPROM (is this a 27C128?):
Delco ACXS1088, 80581 5012A 16240008S

14-pin chips next to EPROM (what are these? any cross-reference):
16055375 (2) 8631, 16055376 (3) 8634 (scuffed up, may be incorrect numbering)

Connector which holds above-three chips:
16035006 8621

Stickers on ECM harness connectors:
07716500983370048 (newer sticker, says REMAN)
975101200116072 (old sticker, under 2 other layers of REMAN)

Stamp on metal cover:
16047243

Sticker on metal cover (big, wide, seems to be designed to identify unit in terms of remanufacturing):
#: 7-7165 (does this indicate it's a 1227165?), Calibration code: 1298MG

Printed on the circuit board:
34E973, 34G973, 34E97 P1

Chips on board:
185-16034980-D08552Z, 185-16045148-MD8604N, 34985, 34986, 52444, 34987, 34988, 1088-8

Also, the board has what appears to be a big VOM(?) or capacitor, and a jumper wire from the 34988 to ground(?).

I assume most of these numbers are irrelevant. I am most interested in the EPROM, the other 2 chips, and the style of ECM (165 or not?)

Many thanks, and many more to come I think. I'm getting excited about this stuff, it's been a while. My wife is starting to get nervous....
