The VSS has only three wires.. a 12 volts in.... an earth.. and the 
switched(pulsed) output...  this is why i cannot understand why it only 
reads in one direction... as is should be a basic almost square wave 
output?? or is it more like a hall effect distributer output??? a variation 
in voltage, in which case it might be looking for a sharper rise??? or 
something along those lines to determine direction???
