Some basic questions, please read

I have posted a couple questions about the relationship between block learn
cell numbers and MAF tables. Car is an 89 Corvette. Actually I posted the
same question twice and have not had even one response. Then I noticed that
most people here are on the GMECM list and not the DIY-EFI list. Duh!!! I
educated myself as much as I could before joining looking at
archives and reading programming 101 and Bruce Plecans tuning tips. More of
you people seem to be working on speed density systems and not MAF systems.
If anyone would be willing to answer a few simple basic questions for me it
would be appreciated. I am not going to ask tuning advise. I can figure
that part out on my own. I do however need guidance on some of the tables
and what they control.

For instance: I have the GMEPro software. There are 6 MAF tables and a
scaler for each table. What do these affect? It seems by changing the
scaler you can affect the entire table. The constants are listed as counts.
Counts? What is meant by counts? I assume that these affect the amount of
fuel that the injectors deliver for a given airflow? Is this what the ECM
uses to start out the fuel mapping and then trim the fuel up or down? Where
do the different cells come into play? Is there any reason to fool with
these?

Second, Say when I build my 383 and install 30 lb injectors. My closed open
loop idle will be way rich. How do I reduce IPW at idle with the bigger
injectors?

I just had a situation after installing a Super Ram on my modified 350 where
while cruising in 4th my BLM's are 118 to 120. Pushing the throttle a
little more caused the INT to jump to 145-150 and run lean until PE was hit
and then everything went back to normal. My chip tuner reprogrammed a new
set of MAF tables and the problem got worse because during cruise the BLM's
dropped even lower. I had to drop the PE to 45% throttle angle to prevent
the lean condition and 20d timing retard. That's when I decided I need to
understand more.

Any help and guidance will be greatly appreciated. I'm excited to learn
this and I' a good listener.
