> Is there a difference between Mask, Broadcast Code, and Scan ID?

Mask is just like it says, if you had a sheet of paper with a give set of
squares representing the tables, and then a second sheet of paper that when
placed over the first allowed you to see all those squares then you *could*
call the second set a mask. Reguardless of anything else the tables would
(thou remember were talking gmese here) line up.

Broadcast Code, is to specify a given calibration. From time, and customer
complaints, they are refined. There are some applications that for a given
year had 50+ BBCs for a specific vehicle.

Scan ID is what most scanners display. I'd imagine that it was driven by
the aftermarket as much as anyone just for a simple way to quickly ID what
your probably working on. Much less exacting, but to be able to remember
while walking to the parts dept., close enough.
