How do I do a quick test of a 730

You'll need more connections than that.  I'm not even looking at the
730 pinoutm and I know you're missing a power line, at the very
minimum.  There's usually a key on power, and 2 battery power lines,
and 2 ground lines.  Better look over the pinout some more.
