I just found a cigarett lighter adapter thing, soldered on a adjustable
voltage regulator.... Wired it in infront of the battery all for under $10

Yep, I have run several laptops with an inverter in a car.
A $35 inverter beats the heck out of a $100 proprietary lighter/laptop
converter that only works on one model laptop......
