Maybe the KAM (keep alive memory) wire was damaged or not conncted properly?
maybe the fuse / link was popped? I've never seen a car start back at 0
unless 1) you disconnect the battery, or 2) reset adaptive trims w/a scanner.
And I fix em for a living.
