If you're not running screens, that will make the MAF sense LESS air than is
flowing.
My 85 Buick GN, with the screens removed would lope at idle, and would
constantly sneeze/pop thru the intake on any quick throttle opening...
putting one of the screens back in to straighten the air and the lope and
sneezing etc went away.
