Aftermarket ROMs

Hi All,

Just wondering how the protection works on Aftermarket ROM's that do not
allow you to read out the EPROM in a reader, yet will obviously run in the
ECM.
I'm not referring to the removal of the Vcc pin method as has been discussed
previously, but ones that have a PLD on the Memcal somewhere. I read off an
Aftermarket one a while back that only gave small grabs of code if read off
in an EPROM programmer (So I just dumped it via the ALDL!).
