Can someone tell me where I can get a decent priced prom eraser and
reader/burner and what price I should expect to pay for those? What is the
best software to use? Thanks

Start by reading Programming 101 on the diy-efi web site,
http://www.diy-efi.org/gmecm/papers/ then try and search thru the archives,
ftp://ftp.diy-efi.org/incoming/gmecm.gz.

Yu're on the right track, learn on something *stock* like your truck and
go from there. The "decoder" you need is a eprom reader/burner to let you
read and burn images on a eprom. You can find some bins right on the GMECM
website, http://www.diy-efi.org/gmecm/ecm_info/ they are indexed by ECM. For
TBI, you're best off with the 1227747, since it's so well hacked and
understood.

There's no reason you can't put TBI on a Poncho. I put port injection on a
Olds motor.... A stock GM TBI setup is far superior to the Holly Pro-crap.

BTW, turn off the HTML fomatting in your email program. Makes it easier
for a lot of list members to read your messages.

sorry to ask you those questions, but I'm just a bit curious. First of
all, I want to tell you that I'm just joined the grouplist, so I'm real new
to the subject. When I see those recordings, are they done with a real
scanner or some other tools? If they are fabricated from scratch, is there a
place I could get info about how I could construct one of these. I'm just
getting into TBI injection, I usually tune holley carbs but FI really is
interesting. I do know FI pretty well, but I'm really trying to get more
into programming proms. How can you get the image from the prom if it's not
on diy site, like is there somekind of decoder? The tbi I'm currently
installing in will be going in a pickup, but I was wondering if I could
adapt a system on my own car, it's a firebird with a pontiac 400 engine
that's running mid 11's on engine and high 10's on with spray, would there
be something I could use on that. Like I know that holley has the pro
jection system, but they seem like mostly tweaked tbi but for a lot of
money. Thanks for all the info. P.S.: where could I find some good info and
maybe image I could play with in order to learn a bit about the system. Math
