Hmm.. If by some miracle the car is still around next weekend, I can try
salvaging the heads and intake. Pulling the whole motor would probably be
too big a pain-in-the-ass for me to attempt. You wouldn't happen to be
near Detroit, would you? If so, and if this stuff is worth any $$ to you,
I might be able to convince the owner to not haul it off until like, next
Monday.

At this point, I have all the FI stuff except for the manifold baseplate.
I was going to try to get that too, but I must say this is a WIERD motor.
Unlike the S-truck 2.8s I'm used to. I had a hard time figuring out where
the intake ended and the heads began! The oil fill is in the intake,
which I'm guessing must drain into the head. It also looked like the top
of the valve covers bolt to the intake! I wish I would've had more time
for experimentation, but I was on a pretty strict time schedule. I found
out, unfortunately, that the offset and bolt pattern of Lumina rims are
unlike nearly every other GM FWD car, so I spent some time torching off
the studs and calipers, and welding on incompatible mini-spares. Had to
give the wheel hop SOMETHING to grab onto when they haul that thing away!
I now have a nice set of 16-inchers for my mom's lumina :)

Anyway, let me know if you're local.. That'll give us a few more options.
I might actually be able to get back over to the shop as early as
Thanksgiving morning, but the liklihood is that he'll have it gone by
then. I'll keep you informed.
