DFI and Haltech

  DFI/ACCEL at best has a "View" screen. This is like a scan tool screen. 
There is no "Check Engine" light output or any built in diagnostics. At one 
time there was a gadget that plugged in a 6-pin connector which allowed the 
user to adjust the idle and WOT fuel curves with a knob. This also had a TPS 
and a MAP warning light if either failed. I don't mean to knock their stuff, 
I've ran it in my car since the early 90's without one glitch. I also 
recommend it to beginners for its ease in tuning on the fly.
     Electomotive, and some higher end units do have diagnostic outputs.
