acceleration stumble

Here is one to get your gears turning.  This is in reference to the 8D 
code chips(ANHT, AUJP, HOWELL730, and so on.  The engine 
idles great and runs great once you get up to speed, but right of 
idle, the engine goes extremly lean and almost dies.  No amount of 
accelerator pedal travel will clear the problem.  The only bin that 
does not do this is the howell bin, but it has an idle problem(more to 
come later).  I have changed everything relating to the accel enrich 
functions, but nothing helps.  The only thing keeping my from 
running this code in my conversion, so any insight into this problem 
would be greatly appreciated.  BTW, I am using it in a 1.7L 4 cyl 
engine with port injection.
