GTech as a testing device

Any comments on the validity of the GTech as a testing device?  As I
understand, the absolute numbers may be off, but relative performance
can be measured with decent accuracy.

In the long run, seems cheaper and quicker than track time and dyno
runs, and a wee bit more accurate than a stopwatch.
