DIY WB update

I need to throw in 2c. NB, WB , what ever. NB O2s have a very narrow AFR
window
around stoich. Many NB O2s , even when new produce not so good readings OR
are just Junk. Many folks don't understand the difference between Lean
Best and
Rich Best power. Engine fueling and Spark Timing are very interdependent
functions.
WB O2s will go a long distance to help separate the wheat from the chaff
in engine
tuning. WB O2s will never be a substitute for years of experience in
interpreting
the combustion status from good plug reads. There's no magic involved
with getting
Fuel and Spark trim right on the $ in a particular combination , other
than hard work
and time spent. Like it or not, Bruce is one of the few on this list
whom really has a
grip on these interactions. Everyone needs to focus on what works with
their combination
of parts, in these areas there's nothing specific , except what works
for your setup.
Too many folks are looking for the silver tuning bullet... There isn't one !
Well , maybe combine WB s and Ion gap sense , would really help get the
job done.
