Firing into a common plenum, I imagine that this could work.  It might
be interesting to try a 2.8L V6 TBI on a 2.5L 4 cyl.  It might also work
on a 1-3-4-2 firing order 4 cyl if the right two cylinders were paired
(1-4 and 3-2), with one injector firing into each pair of cylinders. 
The intake runners would be a problem though (1 and 4?).
