Turbo V8

This is a great topic.  I'd like to learn more about the 749, but the
syty page hasn't been helpful - Programmer 98 is a bad link and the
archive search doesn't work half the time.

Anyway, more turbo info is available through jyturbo list on yahoo
groups.  Mostly Ford guys, but they're mostly running two T Bird turbos
(T3s) on their 5.slows.  .63 A/R for racing, .48 A/R for lower rpm. 
People with two .63 T3s on 351s seem to like them.  Some go to T4/T3
hybrids.  A single powerstroke turbo is good for 550+ hp.  A lot of this
stuff is commonly available at the junkyard cheap.  Read Corky Bell's
book for a lot more info.  As with engines, you have to match up your
parts with what the car is for.
