I put some Redline MTL in a manual transmission a few months ago. It
makes the syncros grab so fast I now get a driveline clunk occasionally.
I have some slop in the rear end - the pinion can be turned back and
fourth a degree or two. With the OEM fluid, the syncros were slow
enough that the slop was taken up slowly.

Also, when the transmission is warm/hot, the gears spin up so easily
that I get gear gnashing noise in this situation: Zero MPH, clutch pedal
to the floor, shift into a forward gear and then to <crunch> reverse.
In the split second between the forward gear and reverse, airflow on the
clutch must be enough to spin up the auxilary shaft.
