VN V6 3 coil ignition

I'm toying with the idea of using the VN V6 DIS module on my inline six 
(with 808). Just wondering what type of crank angle sensor it uses -hall 
etc.., where it's located, and how it works. Would it be hard to adapt to a 
different engine?
