Yaaa, nothing like 175+dF air blowing over a ecm.
Some of the under hood temps (especially in Mopars) are insane.  Consider
they had thermal blankets to keep the acid from boiling out of some of the
battery installations.
Yep, Mopar about packed up and left town after they shut down making hemis,
IMO.

Some of the GM stuff ain't much better.
When you consider where the low airflow regions are.   Another good use for
IAT / MAT sensors are for thermal mapping of the engine compartment (short
term).   At least for comparison, since some of the areas have such min air
flow, the sensor will read some radiant heat, but again if your talking
locations for compnents, that is the temps they will be seeing.
