have the pump in-tank but a new tank for my camaro with it in there is
around 500 bucks I think. What would be the best way to go about this? Is
an external pump going to be ok as long as my fuel lines are run correctly
or do I need to get a new tank with the internal pump to save lots of grief
 later on?

I use a frame mounted pump for a 1989 Ford F150 with 302 ci engine. It works
great with my TPI system. Part # is a Master E2000. Don't use the Borg Warner
equivalent. I've had 4 out of 10 go bad on me in less than a month. Install
the pump on the frame as low and as close to the tank as possible is what
I've been told. But I am going to try and mount the next one up in the engine
bay just to see if it works as well. This wil keep me from having to cut the
steel gas supply line at the frame. JW
