Get back on the subject of GMECM

We're all human and share a common interest - sometimes things can get a bit off
topic anytime humans are involved & you have as high a traffic list as this one
is. It was only a couple messages - nothing to get pissy about & it's easy to
delete if you're not interested. Learning to deal with things like this is an
important part of being on an e-mail list.

Don't see a problem myself as completely off topic posts are pretty well a rare
occurrence on this list. Also helps us get to know each other a bit better. A
lot of people feel very strongly about the topic of gun control, when it's
mentioned you can be assured there will be some responses (it's probably best to
avoid making these people mad as well :).

If you're going to complain about things, why not complain about the messages
before the "Gun Control" thread started where we had several people posting back
and forth doing nothing more than cutting each other down.

It also bothers me when people post off topic messages chastising others for
posting off topic messages. Kinda defeats the purpose :) With my post, yours
and others, we are now approaching the same number of off-topic messages as the
"Gun Control" thread itself generated.

At times the "unfriendliness" of this list discourages me a bit.... No other
list I have been a member of has as high a tension level as this one and diy_efi
seem to have. Seems if you say the wrong thing, ask a question that's been
covered, or make an inaccurate comment, you're jumped on instead of simply &
politely corrected. This list & the very sharp people on it are an invaluable
resource, but sometimes we need to relax a bit & not get out of shape so easily.
