I just got a DI194 from www.dataq.com : 4 channels of 8 bit A/D, plus 2
digital outs and 1 digital in, that connects to a serial port, with their
windaq acquisition software and lots of other goodies on CDROM, all for the
huge price of $15 (okay, I got 2 for $30 + about $9 s&h)! I've played with
it on my desktop but haven't cobbled together a system for the laptop
yet. It has +/- 10 V inputs, so that may be another nice output range to
add to egor (requiring a - supply, of course, but you may even be able to
tap off the di194 (which gets it from the serial port) for that since
current draw should be minimal). How about logging O2, tps, and maybe rpm
with a tach f-to-v circuit, plus a manual switch input if you want
markers? They also have the same thing in 12 bit for $99, and both can do
240 conversions/sec so 240 Hz one channel or 60 Hz per channel on all four
channels.
