   In '91, the TPI engines used MAP.  If the VIN refers to an original
F-body
application, VIN 8 means 5.7L TPI, and VIN F means 5.0 TPI.  I'm using a VIN
F ecm/wiring from an '87 IROC (MAF) in my '85 Monte SS.
   According to 1987 GM F-body wiring diagrams, it appears that the
harnesses
are the same for 5.0/auto and 5.7/auto; just the chip and injectors are
different.  1987 was also the first year of the divorced coil from
distributor as well in the F-body.  I don't know if this pertains to Y-body,
because of packaging issues?

     Hope this clears part of the puzzle up.
