It could be that the parts guy was thinking about TPI vs TBI.  The TBI
setup will have an extra box for the VSS.  The TPI will have an extra
box for the knock sensor.  Either way, there's an extra "module" for one
of the ECMs.

Neighbor just had a TPI vs TBI (or vs carb) confusion at the parts
store.  He needed a TPS for an 85 TPI.  The first one they brought out
was different than the bad part.  The counter person had selected the
wrong 305.
