I've been watching this thread go back and forth for some time, and still
being a sort of newbie, I usually try to avoid taking part in them. I just
think that an important point has been overlooked. Terry, Tunercat, and
other software gurus, while they are making a profit, are still providing an
important service to the list. There are some of us that just don't have the
experience or knowledge yet to write our own software. I think that there is
a distinct difference between making a profit by providing the tools needed
for someone to tune their own engine as opposed to making turnkey systems
for people. Remember, this list is all about everyone helping each other to
do this for themselves. If making a business out of designing systems is
what someone wants to do, admit it from the start. Just be sure that you're
actually providing something in return to those who helped you get where you
are. There may be times when you've pissed someone off to the point that you
can't redeem yourself. In that case, you just have to do your best to
rectify the situation and move on. Just be sure that you've done your best.

Just my $.02 for what it's worth.

Scott
