The K (or M or R) is placed where the decimal would be.  9K6 means
9.6Kohms.  4M1 would be 4.1Mohms.  1R6 is 1.6 ohms, and 0R0 is a zero
ohm resistor, or a wire.  Caps are similar.  NOFIT means there are pads
for the component on the board but one was not fitted for whatever
reason.
