LT5 DIS was Re: How does a DIS

I just looked @ one of these @ my buddies Vette shop the other day & boy
that thing goes 8 ways from tuesday. there is an "ignition module" on the
bottom of the plenum. it has two connectors that goto the "coil pack" this
looks like nothing other than a holder for the coils & if someone can come
up with the part number that would be a V8 DIS modifiers dream. it is a
simple (& very clean) way to adapt the dis coils to a V8. I did not have my
meter handy but this plate looked like nothing but a holder for the coils &
a place to put electrical connectors. this goes to the module, & that goes
to the ecm. there is another module of some sort over behind the driver
side head lamp & i am not sure what that is for. as this has 16 injectors &
some vacume actuators to open the second 8 runners to the motor I am sure
that some of this is drivers for these devices. if i am not mistaken the
second 8 injectors & the butterflys for the second 8 runners come on @ some
% of full scale.

Hope that helps some. I wish i had more time to play with it, before they
buttoned it up.

Does anyone know the part # for the LT5 ignition control module ? it looks
like just what I need to convert a LS1 to run on a 165 ecm ,that I have here
downunder to put in a rod.
I dont know how the LS1 pcm hacking is going in the states but at the moment
there is no one in Aus that can change anything in our LS1 pcm (due to our
different BCM and code) so I have opted to go the early ecm route (map 165
ecm)
