code 44 - why?

Don't get too hung up on BLM's--I've found on the dyno and with an
AFR meter, that the numbers can be out of whack at the scan tool--yet
the engine is "happy" and the BLM's are either low or high. Still trying
to figure out if it's how the PCM is calculating the BLM value.
