If you look down the venturi of a engine running at a high enough speed that
it's not just running on the transfer slot you'll see the fuel sort of gets
a sheeting look to it.  This sheeting is no where near uniform in thickness,
because the pulsations are spread out, so the thick areas of it generate a
rich mixture area.   With a good sensor and Oscope you can easily see each
cylinder fire.  At the EFI POWWOW you could easily see how you could pick
out a particular cylinder miss.  Was with a WB but the response time I've
heard are about the same.

Not really,  the better you understand the manifolding of a Carb, the easier
it is to see how to get a TBI to work well.

Didn't spend near enough time on em.
The real advantage of EFI over carbs is timing management, and cold run
emissions.
With a given manifold I've run the dame numbers from TBI to carb, and would
bet about the same with TPI
