~~Sorry that was my bad, I was not trying to imply that you were going to
jump me only illustrate a point that if SOMEONE were going to jump someone
else, they would think twice about doing it if they knew that the likely
hood of them carrying a firearm was higher.  Here in Southern California,
very FEW people have a license to carry.  the crooks know that & don't mind
cranking you over the head & taking what they want.

~~I AGREE with you 100%, NO ONE should HAVE to carry a gun, but lets face it
this is 2001, Should in one hand & spit in the other & see which one fills
up faster.

~~NO, from "bad guys".  these are the people that want to take things that
don't belong to them or to hurt people just cause they are inclined to.

~~This was the original intent & it still has some validity, although I
don't foresee that it will even need to be used for that purpose (but I wont
go into that).  BUT, as an American with this right, I DO have the right to
own a gun & to protect myself, my family & for that matter my neighbors
(this is what community is about, but that is lost on a LOT of Americans
today).

~~I don't necessarily agree with all the NRA's agenda's, but WHO else is
going to fight for my RIGHT?  No one.

I did not mean to get you all bent out of shape nor to point any fingers,
just trying to illustrate what statistics back up & our rights.

Ok, who's being facetious here?

First, Bob, I want to clarify that I have no inclination of jumping you ...
regardless of what you have stuffed in your belt.

So tell me, as a bonafide gun owner, WHY people need to carry guns.  All
that crap about right-to-bear-arms aside, do we really need engineers and
techs and mechanics packing heat.  You cite safety, but safety from what?
Other gun owners?  Should only the good people get guns and who ARE the good
people that don't make mistakes or get desperate?  WHAT in the world does
somebody need a gun for except to KILL things?

Our Fore Fathers gave us the right to bear arms so that we might protect
ourselves from our own government.  Although the NRA has a political agenda,
it will have no credence until it starts knocking off senators.

Amen to that JJ,  I am a proponent of gun ownership & part of the fight for
NOT having gun control laws (or outlawing them altogether) is what happened
in Australia.  the crimes went UP & exactly the opposite of what the gvnmt
thought would happen, happened.   when you look @ the statistics, there is
no question, the right to have & bear arms is MUCH safer than NOT.

think about it this way, are you more or less likely to jump me, knowing
that I could have my .45 stuffed into my belt?  it only takes one, hollow
point to ruin your day, & that is what I practice for, one.
