Was: lightning strikes my '85 vette! Now: What can happen?

So as I sit and wait for the insurance adjuster to come look at the car, I'm
wondering if they think something like this is worth fixing. What does
everyone think? The ECM is toast for sure.... wiring harness near the fuse
box melted and put out alot of smoke.... digital dash is completely
gone..... a/c controls don't do anything anymore (no fans, no a/c compressor
action)...... stereo went dead.... And don't forget the body damage under
the seat, and the windshield and trim will need to be replaced.....

I'm guessing all sensors could be suspect right now. Especially stuff like
the MAF, TPS and Injectors... would an insurance company actually think this
is something that can be repaired? I actually want them to total it because
I don't want some electrical gremlin to pop up a few months down the road
and the insurance has already closed the book on the repair, you know?

Give me your thoughts.... or if anyone has experience with this sort of
thing, let me know what happened....

Craig M.
