Getting an estimate will tell alot.
Might total the car for what it will cost to repair, and but then the car is
their's, no all insurance cos. will offer the owner a buy back.

Seems like the phase of the moon comes into play on things like fire damage.
I've done more then a few arson repairs, and it's crazy what some adjusters
write at times. Some will low bid the repairs, and then the repair shop can
write amendments for addition unseen damage. Then I've seen relatively
minor stuff total a car.

Just remember how much of the car is libal to be taken apart to fix this
stuff. Unless you have a good shop to do it, be leery. Disassembly of
cars interior is very labor intensive, and if the tech is cutting corners,
well you'll never be happy.

AND inspect everything very closely to make sure everything is working
before you sign off on accepting repairs.
