Getting wet feet....junkyard TBI - NOW: GUN CONTROL

While I'm not going to advocate taking over the government yet, don't tell
me that our Founding Fathers would have put up with some of the laws and
high taxes that we have today. For one, they had no intention of the
government getting this big.

The NRA doesn't advocate government takeover by force. What they do is get
involved with the political process. I am one of them that does this. I put
in alot of hours last election to get as many candidates who support the
Second Amendment into office. Usually when you find a pro-gun candidate,
he's going to be supporting alot of other things that us car guys like. More
reasonable speed limits, less government intevention into just about
everything automotive, and one of our favorites, lower taxes.

The main reason that those of us that own guns, other than hunters, have
them is for protection from those who don't obey the law. How many criminals
actually followed the direction of the Brady Bill to purchase the hand gun
that they used to hold up the local 7-11? No amount of gun control law is
going to stop the criminals, they don't typically get them legally anyway.
They either steal them or get them from the black market.

Thanks for the bandwidth

Scott

that crap about right-to-bear-arms aside, do we really need engineers and
techs and mechanics packing heat. You cite safety, but safety from what?
Other gun owners? Should only the good people get guns and who ARE the good
people that don't make mistakes or get desperate? WHAT in the world does
somebody need a gun for except to KILL things?

ourselves from our own government. Although the NRA has a political agenda,
it will have no credence until it starts knocking off senators.
